Adult speech therapy
Stuttering and confident communication
Stuttering is part of how many adults communicate, and therapy is not about fixing you or curing something wrong. It is about communicating with more ease and confidence, in the situations that matter to you. We work with you on your goals, with respect for you and the way you speak.
What you might notice
- Getting stuck or blocking on words in certain situations
- Avoiding words, calls, or speaking up because of stuttering
- Tension or effort that builds when you talk
- Anxiety around meetings, introductions, or the phone
- Wanting to speak more freely and feel more in control
How we help
We start by understanding your speech and, just as important, your goals and the moments that feel hard. Terri evaluates and Allee delivers the sessions under her supervision. Together we build strategies for easier speaking and for the confidence to say what you want, wherever you are, on your own terms.
What a session looks like
Sessions blend practical speaking techniques with work on the situations you care about, like phone calls or presentations. We go at your pace, keep it respectful, and focus on communication that feels genuinely freer, not on chasing perfect fluency.
Therapy fits adults at any age and any point in their journey with stuttering.

Common questions
Is the goal to cure my stutter?+
No. We do not treat stuttering as something broken to fix. Our focus is confident, comfortable communication on your terms, whether that means smoother speech, less avoidance, or both.
Can therapy help even if I have stuttered my whole life?+
Yes. Adults who have stuttered for years often gain real confidence and ease with focused work. It is never too late to feel more in control of your communication.
Will you push me into scary speaking situations?+
We move at your pace and with your consent. We build up gradually toward the situations you want to handle, with respect for your comfort every step of the way.
